Three more bodies retrieved in Pyuthan



PYUTHAN: The bodies of three persons who were killed in the Pyuthan landslide on Friday were retrieved. Three others are still missing.

The incident occurred when a landslide buried the house of local Bam Bahadur Rahu Magar of Pharinde at Mandabi Rural Municipality-4 in Pyuthan district.

The deceased have been identified as Thama Budamagar, 55, Maushami Thapa, 18, and Teki Rahu Magar, 21. Local people helped the police to retrieve the bodies.

Three people—Bam Bahadur Rahu Magar, 60, four-year-old Susant Rahu Magar and Hira Bahadur Thapa Magar, 60, are still missing in the disaster, said Inspector Sushil Thapa Magar, spokesperson for the district police office, Pyuthan.

A search has been launched for the missing ones, he added. A team of people including Chief District Officer Sunita Nepal and Deputy Superintendent of Police Subash Khadka was deployed for rescue efforts, said Inspector Thapa Magar.
