Flood washes away a bridge in Bardia



BARIDYA: The Jabdighat bridge over the Babai River has been washed away by foods triggered by incessant rain since Tuesday night.

The bridge connecting Barbardia Municipality and Gularia Municipality was built eight years ago. It had already been damaged due to floods in the Babai seven years ago. The middle pillar of the bridge had collapsed.

Chief District Officer Bandhu Bastola said that the span and spur pillars in the central part of the bridge, which had been damaged earlier, were washed away due to the rise in the level of the Babai river after continuous rains.
