NC to mobilize central leaders across country for Nov 20 elections

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) has decided to mobilize party leaders across the country to prepare for the upcoming elections.

The party is going to mobilize central leaders in all 77 districts for the federal and provincial elections to be held on November 20.

NC General Secretary Gagan Thapa said all Central Committee members would be assigned to districts for election-focused campaigns. According to him, the NC central members would be deployed to the districts from August 18 to September 9.

Thapa said so during a program organized on the occasion of International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples in Kathmandu on Monday.

He added that the local representatives elected from the party have also been called to Kathmandu for election preparation.

“All elected officials have been called to Kathmandu on August 15 and 16,” he said.

The party also held a discussion among office bearers, former office bearers, and senior leaders on Monday.

The meeting also discussed seat allocation in the party meeting. Leaders viewed seats should be distributed in such a manner that a comfortable majority is secured.
