Parliamentarians rue over withdrawal of Citizenship related Bill

KATHMANDU: Parliamentarians have expressed their dissatisfaction over the government act of withdrawal of the Bill relating to Citizenship.

In the zero hour of Friday’s meeting in the House of Representatives, parliamentarian Bimala BK questioned about the reason behind withdrawal of the Bill.

Bharat Kumar Shah demanded that another new Bill be brought in the wake of withdrawal of the Bill.

The parliamentarians had also drawn attention of the government towards contemporary issues such as responding to natural disasters such as landslide, flood, timely compensation to the disaster victims, availability of text books in the public schools, food items in Humla district and chemical fertilizers for farmers among others.

They also demanded that an airport be constructed at Kamal Bazar in Achham district, road condition at Dakshinkali area in Kathmandu be improved, foreign exchange reserved be increased and improvement of road condition leading to Upper Arun dam.

Parliamentarians airing their views in today’s zero hour were Renuka Gurung, Yashoda Gurung Subedi, Bhimsendas Pradhan and Yagya Bahadur Bogati among others.
