HoR meeting taking place; govt likely to withdraw Citizenship Bill



KATHMANDU: The meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) is taking place at 2 pm today.

The government is preparing to withdraw the Citizenship Bill in today’s meeting.

Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand is likely to withdraw the ‘Nepal Citizenship (First Amendment) Bill, 2075’.

Though the issue of withdrawing the bill was included in the agenda of the House of Representatives meeting on Thursday, it was not included in the final agenda.

The cabinet meeting had decided to withdraw the citizenship bill.

In 2075 BS, the government had registered a bill in the House of Representatives to amend the Citizenship Act 2063 BS.
