Ph.D. holder Basnet announces candidacy from Kathmandu-9



KATHMANDU: Dr. Gyan Basnet has announced his candidature from Kathmandu Constituency No. 9.

Basnet, who completed his Ph.D. in the United Kingdom, has announced his candidacy for the election to the House of Representatives (HoR).

The elections to the HoR will be held in November though the date has not been announced officially.

In the last election, CPN-UML’s Krishna Gopal Shrestha was elected from Kathmandu Constituency-9.

There has been a wave of independent candidates announcing their candidacies across the country of late.

Recently, independent candidates organized a meeting in Kathmandu.
