BHAKTAPUR: A scooter rider was killed in a road mishap at Pikhel of Changunarayan municipality-5 in Bhaktapur district.
The deceased has been identified as Madhav Basnet, 32, of Sallaghari of Bhaktapur municipality-1.
The accident took place when a mini-truck (Ba 5 Kha 5423) heading towards Changunarayan hit the scooter (Ba 67 Pa 8422) on Thursday night.
Basnet breathed his last while undergoing treatment at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital on the same night, said Deputy Superintendent of Police at the Metropolitan Police Range, Bhaktapur, Raju Pandey.
Police have impounded both vehicles and arrested the mini-truck driver, Satyaram Karmacharya, 43, of Bhaktapur municipality-8.
