Prachanda adamant about continuing left-democratic alliance until parliamentary election

KATHMANDU: The ruling partner, Maoist Center, has adopted a policy of holding the upcoming parliamentary election based on the left-democratic alliance, emphasizing unity and polarization among the left revolutionary parties.

Party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” is adamant to continue the current five-party coalition to face the general elections to be held in November this year.

According to him, the party would soon formulate an action plan for the upcoming elections.

He, therefore, instructed his party cadres during an extended meeting of the party on Thursday to be ready for a “socialist revolution”, for which the party was working toward organizing a ‘special general convention” for the same purpose.

And if everything goes according to his plan, the special general convention will take the idea of the socialist revolution to the next level of preparation and planning of the revolution.

According to him, people then will not feel the need for other parties like Nepali Congress and the CPN-UML.

The Central Committee meeting of the party that started on Sunday in Kathmandu has also given the responsibility of finalizing the party office bearers to the Standing Committee.

The party has formed a 125-member politburo and a 41-member Standing Committee, according to Ramesh Malla, personal secretary to “Prachanda”.
