SEBON making arrangements to give reservations in IPO to Nepalis in foreign countries

KATHMANDU: Chairman of the Securities Boards of Nepal (SEBON) Ramesh Kumar Hamal has said that SEBON is making arrangements to give reservations in an initial public offering (IPO) to Nepalis in foreign countries.

Speaking on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of SEBON, Chairman Hamal informed that the provision of reservation in IPO for Nepalis in foreign employment brought by the government through the budget will be implemented within four months.

Through its 2022/23 budget, the government had announced to allocate 10 percent quota in the IPO for those who have gone for foreign employment.

Hamal opined that the policy of 4-12 in share pledge loans should be reviewed to resolve the recent situation of the market. He remarked that SEBON is aware of the declining market situation.

He also expressed his commitment to creating a separate trading platform for small and medium enterprises in the next four months.
