Dahal insists on continuation of alliance till federal poll

POKHARA: CPN-Maoist Center Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said the existing political alliance of the ruling parties would go on till the province and federal elections.

“The electoral alliance is not forged not just for the May 13 local-level elections,” he said.

Addressing an election mass meeting organized by the ruling coalition in Pokhara on Saturday, the former Prime Minister insisted on the continuity of the alliance. “Efforts are being made to break the alliance since its birth.”

As he explained, the alliance is meant for protecting the nation, constitution and republic, but conspiracy is being hatched to hamper its progress. In this situation, parties in the alliance are expected to take it ahead safely till the province and federal elections.

The country may meet with an accident had there not been the alliance formed against the repressive and counter revolutionary forces, he said, adding that the coalition was born to safeguard the constitution, democratic republic, federalism and proportional inclusive.

Forming the poll alliance among the parties in the government in six metropolitan cities and 11 sub metropolitan cities despite difficulties meant to protect the fate and future of entire Nepali people, he claimed.

He urged people to make alliance candidates victorious in the poll.

Dhanraj Acharya from the CPN-Unified Socialist and Nepali Congress’ Kopila Ranabhat are candidates for mayoral and deputy mayoral seats respectively in Pokhara Metropolitan City.
