Russian citizen dies of altitude sickness in Solukhumbu



SOLUKHUMBU: A Russian national has died of altitude sickness while on way to the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest.

A 55-year-old Russian citizen, Pavel Kostrikin, who was carrying passport number 751103224, died on Saturday evening, police said. He represented Seven Summit Club Russia.

He died suddenly in Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality-4 after finding it difficult to breathe.

An Altitude Air helicopter airlifted the Russian’s body to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj.
