POKHARA: CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has made it clear that he did not intimidate voters rather he made them aware of the possibility of the rise of regressive forces if KP Oli’s CPN-UML wins.
Addressing an election rally organized by the five-party alliance in Pokhara on Sunday, the Maoist Center chair said that he tried to indicate the fate of the country if KP Oli’s royalist alliance wins.
“This alliance was born to defeat the opponents of democracy and federalism and now another monarchist alliance has formed. There is a danger of a political mishap in the country if they (Oli’s alliance) win,” Prachanda clarified his statement made in Chitwan a few days ago.
Earlier, the UML-led alliance criticized Maoist chair for portraying Renu Dahal’s defeat (if so happens) as the defeat of democracy and the nation.
“Elections have come as a battle between progress and regression. We, the proponents of peace, change and the constitution, are on one side and the feudal reactionary elements, who want to overthrow the democratic achievements, are on the other side,” Prachanda said, appealing to voter to cast ballot for the ruling coalition candidates.
