A 49-year-old woman raped in Banke



BANKE: A 49-year-old woman has been raped in Nepalgunj, Banke district.

According to the Area Police Office, Dhanauli, the woman from Khajura village was rescued half-naked and half-unconscious at 12.30 last night.

The woman had left the house at 10:15 pm saying she would go to her mother’s house after a dispute with her family members.

She had boarded an autorickshaw.

The family went out in search of her after receiving the information that she had not reached her family till midnight.

They then saw the auto rickshaw on the road.

The woman was found half-naked and half-conscious near a bush some 50 meters south of the road, said Prem Prasad Regmi, Inspector at the Area Police Office, Dhanauli.

The woman is undergoing treatment.

The owner of the auto-rickshaw was taken under control from Bardiya at around 4 in the morning, police said.
