Scientist Pun honored by British varsity



KATHMANDU: Founder of National Innovation Centre and Nepali scientist Dr. Mahabir Pun Magar has been honored by the University of Central Lancashire in the UK.

At a program organized by Biz Education in the UK, Pun was honored in recognition of his contribution to research, studies, and innovation. An interaction program was also held virtually on the occasion.

The sexagenarian scientist showed his works through video to the audiences participating in the honoring event. He shared that the Innovation Centre set up with the support of people of Nepal and foreigners was working in over 20 sectors such as drone, biomedical, agriculture, education and health.

Earlier he was known for work in applying wireless technologies to rural areas in the hilly region.

Present in the event were Nepal Education Council UK’s office-bearer Basanta Nepal, Ganesh Khadka and Krishna Khanal among others.
