Revenue fraud case filed against four including the operator of Being Human



KATHMANDU: The Revenue Investigation Department has filed a case against four persons, including the operator of Being Human’s Nepal chapter, on the charge of cheating revenue by importing alcohol.

According to  the Director General of the Department, Prakash Poudel, a case was filed against Santosh Chandra Bakhrel of Budhanilkantha, Kathmandu, Rabin Pakhrin of Handigaun, Kathmandu, Narayan Prasad Ghimire of Saraswati Municipality-7 and Kageshwari Manohara-6 of Sarlahi Barthahawa Municipality-9 on the charge of illegally importing liquor worth more than 40 million .

The case is filed in the Patan High Court on Sunday.

Each of the accused has been demanded to pay a fine of Rs 44.637 million and the fine  worth the same amount.

According to the department, their liquor and the means of transportation used to import the liquor illegally have been confiscated.
