PM Deuba in isolation after Maoist Center Chair Prachanda diagnosed with COVID-19

KATHMANDU: After the CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ tested positive for coronavirus, Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has also taken to isolation from Saturday afternoon.

According to Prime Minister Deuba’s secretariat, the Prime Minister had met the Maoist Center Chairman on Friday.

“Abiding the protocols relating to precaution and control of coronavirus, the Prime Minister will attend the public programs after passing few days in isolation,” a member of the Prime Minister’s Secretariat told Khabarhub.

Prime MInister Deuba and Prachanda were present at a meeting of a high-level political mechanism in Baluwatar two days ago.

After the corona was confirmed in Prachanda the day after the meeting, other leaders including the Prime Minister are also under contact tracing.

Prime Minister Deuba met CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli at the latter’s Balkot based residence on Saturday morning.
