KATHMANDU: Machhindra Football Club has defeated Friends Club in a football tournament held under the Martyr’s Memorial A Division League on Saturday.
Held at Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwor, Ronell Anthony scored a suicide goal in the second half, helping Machhindra Club score three more points.
In the second half, Friends exerted pressure on Machhindra. In the 53rd minute, Jamaul Anthony hit the ball into the goal post but unfortunately it landed on Bishal’s hand and did not turn out to be a goal
In the 67th minute, Friends’ Anthony made a suicide goal giving a lead to Machhindra. In the ongoing league, Machhindra has notched up 20 points from eight games. Manang is in the second position with 16 points.
