PM Deuba meets main opposition leader Oli in Balkot

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister and Nepali Congress leader Sherr Bahadur Deuba has met main opposition CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli at the latter’s Balkot based residence on Saturday morning.

According to PM Deuba’s secretariat, PM Deuba went to see UML Chair to discuss about the latter’s continuous obstruction in the parliament and other issues including Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC).

Dissatisfied at Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota’s slackness in taking action against then defecting UML leaders including Madhav Nepal, UML has been obstructing parliament accusing the Speaker of playing pivotal in UML split.

Prime Minister Deuba reached the Oli residence in Balkot after the UML remained absent in all-party meeting called earlier by PM Deuba to discuss removal of the parliament obstruction.

Earlier, NC leader Ram Chandra Poudel, also coordinator of the high level mechanism formed to help run the incumbent government, reached leader Oli residence in Balkot and held discussion with him.

The UML has been continuously obstructing the parliament session putting forth various demands.
