Maoist Center Chair Prachanda tests positive for COVID-19



KATHMANDU: CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has been diagnosed with coronavirus infection.

According to Prachanda’s secretariat, he underwent a PCR test Friday evening following unease to his health for the past few days. Test result confirmed that the Maoist leader contracted COVID19.

However, Prachanda’s health is normal and he is resting at his residence in Khumaltar, Kathmandu, the secretariat added.

All scheduled programs of the Maoist chair has been canceled in view of the necessity to undergo isolation.

Prachanda’s secretariat urged all those who come in contact with the leader in the past few days to adopt caution.

Earlier, another leader of the party Narayan Kaji Shrestha also announced that he had contracted the coronavirus.
