PR: CPN-UML gets highest number of votes



KATHMANDU: The counting of votes received by political parties under the proportional representation (PR) system of the November 20 general elections has been completed.

The CPN (UML) has received 2,845,642 votes while the Nepali Congress got 2,715,225 votes.

Likewise, the CPN (Maoist Center) has received 1,175,684, Rastriya Swatantra Party has bagged 1,130,344 votes, Rastriya Prajatantra Party got 588,849, Janata Samajwadi Party 421,313 votes, Janamat Party 394,605 votes and CPN (Unified Socialist) received 298,391 votes.

The counting of votes of the first-past-the-post (FPTP) system of the House of Representatives and the Provincial Assembly elections held on November 20 has already been completed.
