Water level crosses danger level in Narayani river, warning issued

CHITWAN: The water level in the Narayani river has recorded highest 12 meters so far signifying danger.

The water level has crossed danger level of 9 meters after it was measured at 9.08 meters at around 12 pm, said the flood measurement center at Devghat. The water level was continuously increasing, it added.

Meanwhile following this, the district administration office, Chitwan, has issued a notice asking residents of the river banks and surroundings to stay alert.

Likewise, Bharatpur Metropolitan City has also urged the residents of the river banks to be cautious.

Out of 29 wards in the metropolis, 12 are at risk of flooding. Of them, wards 1, 3, 5, 16, 18, 26 and 28 are located at the Narayani river banks, and wards 22, 23, 24, 25 and 28 at the Rapti river banks. Similarly, wards 27 and 28 are at the banks of both the rivers.
