Deceased of Bara bus accidents identified



BARA: The death toll in the passenger bus accident that took place on Thursday at the Amlekhganj road section of Bara under the East-West Highway has reached 18.

With the death of a girl and a woman who were being treated at Chitwan Medical College in Bharatpur, the death toll has reached 18.

Last night, 16-year-old Pritika Chaudhary of Bara Karaiyamai 2, currently living in Bharatpur 12, Chitwan died in New Medical Chitwan and 60-year-old Malti Devi Chaurasia of Parsa Birgunj 16 Nagwa died during treatment at Narayani Sub-Regional Hospital Birgunj, DSP Rajesh Thapa, the spokesperson of District Police Office Bara informed.

All other deceased persons have been identified. The deceased are 41-year-old Lilaraj Chaudhary of Bara District Kalaiya -2, Bara, 63-year-old Nand Kumari Pudasaini of Khairhani-5, Budauli, Chitwan, 14-year-old Saphal Kandel, Ramailo Chowk, Chitwan, 65-year-old Som Prasad Chaurasia and 36-year-old Manni Devi Chaurasiya of Birgunj-16, Shubhalaxmi Shrestha, 56, and Swostika Shrestha, 19, of Hetauda 7, Makawanpur , Nazlin Khatun, 35, and Itajat Ansari of Kalaiya 10, Bara, Suresh BK, 28, of Jitpur Simara 2, Bara, Lal Bahadur Bogti,Okhaldhunga, Manorath Pudasaini, 35, of Khaireni 5, Chitwan, Ambika Kandel, 35, of Gorkha, Santosh Kumar Ray, 50, of Janakpur 5, Dhanusha, Pritika Chaudhary, 16, of Bharatpur-12, Chitwan, Ram Ashraya Yadav, 55, of Sworna 7, Bara, Gaya Raut Kamkar, 55, of Sakhuwaprasauni 6, Parsa, and Malti Devi Chaurasia, 60, of Birganj 16 Nagwa, Parsa.

According to the police, the primary investigation of the accident has revealed that the mishap occurred due to brake failure of the bus.

The injured are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in Chitwan, Hetauda and Birgunj, the police informed.
