Indian national with illegal foreign currency held from TIA

KATHMANDU: An Indian citizen about to fly to Dubai with illegal foreign currency was arrested from the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu on Sunday.

The arrested has been identified as 43-year-old Ankur Ghanshyabhai Patel. The TIA airport security police apprehended him.

The security police seized illegal US dollars 3,066, Pound Sterling 2,130, Euros 3,400, UAE Dirhams 4,465 and Kenyan Shillings 4,650 from Patel’s bag.

He has been sent to Revenue Investigation Department in Harihar Bhavan, Lalitpur, for necessary action.
