LSP Chairman Thakur holding talks with PM Deuba



KATHMANDU: Loktantrik Samajbadi Party (LSP) Chairman Mahantha Thakur is holding holding talks with Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.

Thakur is meeting Prime Minister Deuba at 4 pm at the PM’s official residence in Baluwatar, Kathmandu, on Sunday.

According to LSP leader Sharad Singh Bhandari, the agenda of the meeting is LSP’s support to government, participation in the government and request to withdraw cases against activists of Madesh movement.

The LSP is mulling to form an alliance with the Nepali Congress (NC) in the upcoming elections and due to the same, Prime Minister Deuba has been requesting LSO to participate in the current government.

In today’s meeting, Thakur is to draw Prime Minister Deuba’s attention to withdraw the case filed against his leaders and workers who were arrested during the Madhes movement.

The LSP is inclined to join the government as the incumbent government passed the Citizenship Bill.

LSP top leaders and Prime Minister Deuba have held talks many times in the past.
