Sale and distribution of alcohol prohibited in Baitadi

BAITADI: The sale and distribution of alcohol would be completely restricted in the Baitadi district from May 9.

The sale and distribution would be banned in the district during local-level elections in order to hold the local polls in a peaceful manner. The local-level election is taking place on May 13.

Information officer of the District Administration Office, Khagendra Bharati, shared that an all-side meeting took the decision to prohibit the sale and distribution of alcohol until the result of the local-level poll from May 9.

The sale, distribution and consumption of alcohol has been prohibited as different types of incidents might occur due to alcohol and action would be taken as per the law against anyone violating the decision, according to the District Administration Office.

District-based f political parties’ representatives and businessmen were present in the all-side meeting held under coordination of Chief District Officer, Rajendra Dev Pandey.
