Coalition formed to share spoils of government: UML Chair Oli

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli has said political parties such as the Nepali Congress and the CPN-Maoist Center have formed an alliance to share the spoils of the government.

Speaking at an election rally in Itahari Sub-metropolitan City on Saturday, he said the five ruling parties formed the alliance as they could not compete with the UML even at ward-level.

UML Chairman Oli remarked that the ruling party’s alliance was a poorly-patched puppet.

He viewed casting vote for the alliance formed with the intent of sharing spoils of government was not right.  “Voters must decide whether to cast vote for the alliance or to those who aim to achieve the motto of ‘Happy Nepalis, Prosperous Nepal’,” Oli said. It is to be noted that ‘Happy Nepalis, Prosperous Nepal’ is UML’s motto.

“I take the responsibility to develop Itahari. Just make mayoral candidate Yam Subba and deputy mayoral candidate Sangita Chaudhary victorious in the local level election,” he added.

UML Chair Oli remarked that the manifesto of Nepali Congress reflected the image of individual but the UML manifesto gave an impression of development.

Oli, expressing outrage at the ruling coalition, said those who had finished the country by collectively sharing the spoils had formed an alliance.

He leveled that the CPN-Unified Socialist and the Maoist Center were mere fans removing flies off the back of the Nepali Congress.
