Political parties ask govt to provide relief to Tanahun fire victims

TANAHUN: Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN-UML have asked the government to ensure relief to the affected families from a heavy fire that happened in Damauli of Tanahun district on Sunday afternoon.

Issuing separate statements, leaders of the parties have expressed their sorrow over the losses of physical property while calling for due relief to the affected ones.

In their statements, Secretary of NC Tanahun Laxmi Bhakta Khanal and Under Secretary of UML district committee Pradip Raj Adhikari have expressed their gratitude to all for their support to extinguish the inferno.

As per the preliminary estimates, property worth million is gutted in the fire. Police said details of the losses is yet to confirm.
A warehouse of Bhupal Hardware in Damauli is completely gutted to cinder and a three-storied house of Jyoti Kumar Shrestha witnessed a partial damage at its back, according to police.

Likewise, the fire caused damages to a part of three-storied building of Balram Rana, two shops of Tanahunshur Mini Market and many other houses and business firms.

The fire starting from the warehouse of Bhupal Hardware had spread in a massive way in no time causing huge damages in the main market area of Damauli bazaar.

Likewise, security officials and business community said they are collecting the details of the damages. The reason behind the fire outbreak is not confirmed so far.
