‘Announcement of local elections puts to rest fears of local levels remaining vacant’

KATHMANDU: The CPN-Maoist Center has said that fears of the local levels remaining vacant are over with the announcement of the date of local elections.

The cabinet meeting held on Monday announced the local level election for May 13.

Maoist Center Chief Whip Dev Gurung said the fears that the local level would be without people’s representatives are over now.

“Unnecessary fears and propaganda were circulated that local levels would be without people’s representatives. However, we had been saying that elections would be held on time. Now, after the local level election date is announced, such unnecessary apprehensions are over, unnecessary illusions are shattered,” said Gurung.
