EC seeks details of resources from local levels for May 13 elections

KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) has started the necessary preparations for holding the upcoming local level elections slated for May 13.

The commission has sought details of physical resources, such as building, vehicles and furniture, among others, from the local levels via the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration.

A cabinet meeting held today (Monday) fixed the local level election date as May 13.

Issuing a statement later Monday, the EC asked all 753 local levels to send the required details to the commission by February 12 for holding and managing the election of the local levels and district coordination committees (DCCs).

The EC requested all the local levels to manage at least one desktop computer, laptop, scanner and printer from the local level concerned to run the office of the Chief Election Officer.
