NEPSE rises by 15.5 points on Monday



KATHMANDU: The stock market index NEPSE, which declined on Sunday, the first trading day of the week, closed 0.55 percent higher on Monday amid initial fluctuations.

The discussion regarding the announcement of the local election and the assumption that it could ease the liquidity in the market has caused fluctuations in the stock market for a few days now.

Despite some fluctuations in the initial decline, NEPSE rose by 15.69 points and closed at 2851.86 points on Monday. Despite the rise in NEPSE today, the banking, hotel and tourism and microfinance sub-indices have declined modestly. All other sub-indicators have increased.

Although there was some increase in NEPSE, the transaction amount did not look encouraging. Today, the market has a turnover of 5 billion 22 million and 17 thousand. Nepal Infrastructure Bank took the lead in the market today. The bank had a turnover of Rs 493.4 million while National Hydropower had a turnover of Rs 276.6 million and Arun Valley had a turnover of Rs 250 million.

Shares of 190 companies have risen and shares of 70 companies have fallen in the market today. Similarly, share prices of five companies remained stable.

Of those traded, Nepal Infrastructure Bank’s share price rose the most at 8.42 percent. Similarly, Chyangdi Hydropower grew by 6.83 percent, Sanima Life by 5.04 percent, National Hydropower by 4.66 percent and Bottlers Nepal Terai by 4.61 percent.

The share price of Buddhabhumi Hydropower, which had been on a positive circuit till last year, fell by 4.57 percent, while that of Support Microfinance fell by 3.71 percent and that of Sahas Urja by 2.64 percent.
