Unnecessarily dragging MCC into dispute could have serious consequences, warns Dr Bhattarai

KATHMANDU: Former Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai has warned that the consequences of unnecessarily dragging the issue of Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) into dispute could have serious implications.

Taking to social media, he also said that the issue of MCC has been made complicated due to the tendency on the part of the political leaders and to betray the nation.

A letter jointly signed by Prime Minister and President of the Nepali Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba and Chairman of the CPN-Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda was revealed on Sunday.

Even though the leaders stated that it would take some time for the MCC to be approved and that they were in favor of the MCC, the ruling coalition has not been able to forge consensus on the issue.
