COVID-19 cases spike again: Nepal sees 968 coronavirus cases Friday

Kathmandu valley sees 369 cases in 24 hours



KATHMANDU: The country recorded 968 new cases of coronavirus, an alarming surge in the virus transmission in the country, while 262 infected patients recovered in the past 24 hours.

Of the confirmed cases, 572 were detected through the RT-PCR method and 396 from the antigen method.

Likewise, there are 284 cases in Kathmandu, 23 in Bhaktapur and 62 in Lalitpur, taking the total cases in the valley to 369 in the past 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, there was no coronavirus-related death reported in the past 24 hours. With this, the COVID-19 death toll in the country is 11,602 till date.

There are 5,741 active cases of coronavirus in Nepal as of Friday.
