RSP’s Poudel reaches SC demanding re-election in Rupandehi-2

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) candidate for the House of Representatives member from Rupandehi-2, Ganesh Paudel has filed a writ at the Supreme Court seeking order for re-election in Rupandehi-2.

Claiming that CPN-UML candidate Bishnu Paudel had been declared winner in the November 20 election disregarding the irregularities he (Bishnu Paudel) committed, RSP candidate Paudel reached the apex court on Tuesday.

RSP candidate Paudel was defeated by UML Vice Chairman Bishnu Paudel by a margin of 1,370 votes.

When the UML candidate got 27,165 votes, the RSP candidate stood second receiving 25,795 votes.
