Nepal sends diplomatic note to India for constructing embankment without consent

KATHMANDU: Nepal government has sent a diplomatic note to India regarding India’s construction of an unauthorized concrete structure by pushing the flow of the Mahakali towards Nepal.

According to a Foreign Ministry official, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent a diplomatic note to the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu on Tuesday afternoon.

“The government sent a diplomatic note to India, as the latter initiated embankment construction in Mahakali river lopsidedly,” the official said.

The note sent by Nepal mentioned that a long-term solution should be sought diplomatically in order to prevent such incidents from happening again in the border area.
