Kapilvastu judge Giri alleged of rape



KATHMANDU: Kapilvastu district judge Bhuvan Giri has been investigated for allegedly sexually abusing a woman by holding her hostage.

District Police Office Kapilvastu initiated an investigation after the victim filed a complaint alleging that she was held hostage and sexually exploited.

After the Kapilvastu police refused to accept the complaint, the victim approached the National Human Rights Commission and the Women’s Commission a week ago and lodged a complaint.

Both Commissions sent letters to the Kapilvastu police instructing them to investigate the matter.

The Human Rights Commission also sent the complaint and letter to the Judicial Council.

According to the Human Rights Commission, in the complaint, Judge Giri has been accused of sexually abusing the victim by holding her hostage.
