Vote counting of PR category to complete today



KATHMANDU: Counting of votes under the proportional representation (PR) system of the recently held elections to the House of Representatives (HoR) and Province Assembly (PA) would be completed on Tuesday, the Election Commission said.

Vote counting cast under the first-past-the-post category concluded today. As per the details of the Commission, a total of 10.43 million PR votes have been counted so far.

Some votes cast under PR system of Syangja constituency-2, Dolakha and Bajura are still to be counted, said Assistant Spokesperson of the EC, Kamal Bhattarai.

The EC would write to the political parties to recommend the names of the PR candidates along with number of seats based on the closed list of PR candidates submitted earlier.

The parties would get seven days to recommend the name of PR candidates for HoR and three days for PA.
