81 applicants selected in preliminary phase for vacant posts of 27 High Court judges



KATHMANDU: The Judicial Council has selected 81 persons for the post of 27 judges of the High Court in the preliminary phase.

The selected are among district judges, legal professionals, those in judicial services, government lawyers and those engaged in legal services.

A meeting of the council was held on Tuesday.

The council has selected 38 persons from District Judges, 25 from Legal practitioners, 7 from Judicial Service, 7 from Government Lawyers’s group and 4 from Legal Service staff.

The Council had some time ago invited vacancy applications for High Court judges. About 3,000 people had submitted applications for the same.

Among them, names of 81 applicants have been selected in the first stage.

The council will hold interview and select the final 27 people for the post of High Court judges.
