Seat sharing getting trickier: Unified Socialist Chair Nepal

KATHMANDU: Chairman of the CPN United Socialist Party Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that the issue of seats sharing in upcoming elections is getting trickier and complex.

The elections for the Members of the House of Representatives and Provincial Assemblies are being held on November 20 and the ruling coalition partners have agreed to forge electoral alliance to contest the election against the main opposition CPN-UML.

Speaking at the central committee meeting of Nepal Dalit Liberation Organization, which is close to the party, that kicked off in Kathmandu on Tuesday, leader Nepal said the complexity was that whether all coalition partners agree to just allocation of seats.

Nevertheless, he expressed his commitment to make seat sharing possible and move forward.

Chair Nepal also alerted the entire party line to go to the villages and settlements targeting the elections and engage in organization building and mobilization.

He said, “Now we have to contest the election. The organization is to be built and mobilized for the election.

He also warned that the CPN Unified Socialist would not grant party membership to those who exploit the Dalit community.
