Many tourist destinations in Bhojpur awaiting exploration

BHOJPUR: Bhojpur houses many unexplored tourist destinations. But, factors like lack of publicity and infrastructure development like roads has overshadowed them, according to local people.

The district is the birthplace of Balaguru Shadananda, a social reformer and education activist and Yogmaya, a women rights activist and religious leader while Taksar Bazaar at Bhojpur Municipality-12 is considered to be an area with industrial, historical and cultural importance and is the center of processing mined metals.

Historic Hatuwagadhi at Hatuwagadhi Rural Municipality and Kotgadhi at Pauwadung Rural Municipality that add glory to the district have been overlooked without visitors.

Likewise, Tapobhumi Majhuwabensi, Siddhakali Temple, Golmeraja Golmerani cliff, Nagchhanga, Chulachuli cave, Salpasilichung, Tripureshwor Mahadev, Santaneshwor Mahadev, Chhange fall, Silichung peak, Temke hill and Maiyung hill are among tourist destinations waiting for tourists.

“There are many tourist destinations in the district. But, the federal, provincial and local governments, have failed to make publicity about them properly. The number of tourists visiting the district is low,” said Lakpa Sherpa of Temkemaiyung-5. (RSS)
