Two more cholera cases detected



KATHMANDU: Cholera has been confirmed in two more persons.

According to Director of Epidemiology and Disease Control Division under the Ministry of Health and Population, Dr Chuman Lal Das, cholera patients were found in Hetauda and Changunarayan municipality. Both of them are now receiving treatment.

With this, number of cholera patients has reached 21 so far, he added.

People have been urged to drink boiled water or drink water after purifying it with chlorine liquid.

The Health Ministry requested all to adopt precautions to be safe from cholera. Chief of the District Health Office, Kathmandu, Basanta Adhikari, shared that the cholera cases have increased due to consumption of coliform mixed water.

A coliform bacterium was detected in course of conducting test of drinking water of four places of Kirtipur, he added.
