Meeting of Election Preparation and Monitoring Committee underway at Baluwatar



KATHMANDU: A meeting of the Election Preparation and Monitoring Committee of the five-party ruling coalition is underway to decide the model of electoral alliance in the May 13 local elections.

The meeting being held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar is attended by Nepali Congress General Secretary Gagan Thapa, Communications Minister Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, Maoist leader Dev Gurung, Unified Socialist leaders Beduram Bhusal and Bijay Poudel, Janata Samajbadi leaders Ashok Rai and Renu Yadav, and Durga Poudel from Rastriya Janamorcha.

The meeting is reviewing the ongoing work on local election coordination in different districts and making strategic preparations for the election coordination.
