Gandaki CM Pokharel instructs for peaceful election



POKHARA: Gandaki Province Chief Minister Krishnachandra Nepali Pokharel has instructed the chiefs of security agencies to conduct the upcoming local level election in a fear-free environment.

The local level election is slated on May 13 in a single phase.

At a meeting organized by local government in Baglung district today, CM Pokharel directed the chiefs of security agencies in the then four districts of Dhaulagiri to devise election-centric security plans.

Stating that the provincial government was ready to hold election, Pokharel instructed to enable fear-free environment for the voters to cast their ballots without any fear in the upcoming local level election.

During the meeting, the chief district officers of four districts had briefed the CM about security condition, strength and challenges of security situation in Baglung, Parbat, Myagdi and Mustang.

“The Election Commission of Nepal and the federal government would certainly devise special plan for the upcoming election and the provincial government is ready to coordinate effort for the same,” he pledged.
