KATHMANDU: The Business Advisory Committee of the House of Representatives on Sunday discussed the impeachment motion filed against Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana.
As many as 98 lawmakers from the Nepali Congress, the Maoist Center and the Unified Socialist had on February 13 filed an impeachment motion against Rana.
According to the Speaker’s Secretariat, discussions were made to bring the impeachment motion against Chief Justice Rana to immediate discussion and to form an impeachment recommendation committee.
An 11-member committee will have to be formed to investigate and recommend the impeachment.
