RPP Chair Lingden and former chair Thapa meet on Saturday

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chairman Rajendra Lingden has met with former Chairman Kamal Thapa on Saturday.

Former chair Thapa has been alleging that former king Gyanendra Shah had interfered in the RPP general convention in which he lost to Lingden.

Thapa also demanded that the role of the former royal be discussed in the party’s Central Working Committee (CWC), warning that failing to do so would invite disaster in the party.

RPP Chairman Lingden reached Thapa’s residence on Saturday following Thapa’s warning.

Earlier Sunday, after welcoming the newly elected office bearers at the party’s central office, Chairman Linden told the media that the issue raised by the former chairman Thapa was under deliberation in the party.

“At present, all party members are satisfied within the party and there is no instance of anyone being dissatisfied,” Lingden said, adding, “Former chair Thapa has raised some issues, which are being discussed. We will address those issues in the near future.”
