NEPSE falls by 40.57 points on Sunday



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has declined on the first day of the week. The stock market index fell by 40.57 points to 2836.17 on Sunday.

A total of 1,651,754 shares of 228 companies were traded during the day, resulting in a turnover of Rs 5.83 billion.

Of the 191 companies traded today, 175 witnessed a decline while 13 rose. The value of the remaining three companies remained stable.

Of the 13 subgroups traded today, the indicators for all subgroups are also negative.

Shares of Nepal Hydro Developers rose 8.08 percent on Sunday. Similarly, NRN Infrastructure and Development grew by 3.80 percent and Shikhar Insurance by 3.17 per cent. The rest of the companies’ shares have risen less than 3 percent.

According to the Nepal Stock Exchange, Arun Valley Hydropower had the highest turnover on Sunday. The company had a turnover of Rs 544.93 million.
