KATHMANDU: The Gujarat Vibrant investor summit scheduled to be participated by Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has been postponed amid increasing cases of COVID-19 in Gujarat.

The Summit was scheduled to be held in the Indian state of Gujarat on January 10-12, and to be inaugurated by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, according to India’s Business Today.

Prime Minister Deuba was scheduled to fly to India on Sunday to take part in the Summit.

However, his visit, too, has been cancelled, sources have claimed.

India’s opposition Congress had earlier urged the Indian government to call off the Summit in the wake of rising number of cases.

The 10th edition of Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2022 was scheduled to be participated by various Heads of States, Ministers, global business leaders and CEOs, ambassadors, officials from multilateral institutions, trade and business organizations from across the world.
