One killed, 12 injured in cooking gas explosion in Jhapa



JHAPA: A person has died in a cooking gas explosion at Mechinagar-7 in Jhapa.

According to police, 12 others have been injured.

A fire broke out at Keshav Pathak’s house on Wednesday night due to the explosion.

The deceased has been identified as Sharada Rajbanshi, 45, of Mechinagar-8.

Sharada, who was critically injured, died on the way to Dhulabari for treatment. Police said that the one-storey house was completely burnt down.

Eleven of the injured are undergoing treatment at Birtamod-based B&C Hospital.
