Top leaders reaffirm relevance of continuing five-party coalition

Reaffirming the need and relevance of the coalition, top leaders of the ruling coalition on Monday decided to continue working together — meaning forming a new government involving the current coalition partners.

Issuing a joint statement on Monday evening, the coalition partners reaffirmed the need and relevance of the current alliance.

Amid speculations that the Maoist Center would forge an alliance with the CPN-UML, a meeting held at the Prime Minister’s official residence agreed to continue the coalition among the five political parties, including Nepali Congress, Maoist Center, Unified Socialist, Janamorcha Nepal and Loktantrik Samajwadi Party (LSP).

NC stands first in PA seat tally, clinches 110 out of 330 seats

With the completion of vote count results of the elections to the Province Assembly held under the first-past-the-post system, Nepali Congress (NC) has stood first in the seat tally.

Out of 330 PA members elected from seven provinces, and the major ruling NC has won 111 seats.

UML gets highest number of votes under PR category

The CPN-UML has garnered the highest number of votes under the Proportional Representation category.

According to the Election Commission (EC), the UML has got 27,88,356 (26.76%) votes under the PR system of the HoR.

Home Minister Khand meets Maoist Center Chairman Prachanda

Home Minister Balkrishna Khand held a meeting with Chairman of CPN-Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ at the latter’s residence in Khumaltar, Lalitpur, on Monday afternoon.

Rhino found dead in CNP

According to the Information Officer of the CNP, Ganesh Prasad Tiwari, the male rhino was found dead in Gundrayidhaka community forest at Amaltari area in Nawalpur.
