Relief aid extended to fire survivors in Sindhupalchowk

SINDHUPALCHOWK: Financial assistance has been extended to fire survivors of Melamchi municipality-11 in Sindhupalchowk.

A relied amount of Rs 432,095 raised by Melamchi Bazaar-based entrepreneurs and organizations was handed over to the fire victims.

Property worth tens of millions of rupees was destroyed when a fire engulfed four shops, a hotel, a bakery and a residential house on last November 24.

After the incident, several social activists, political parties and leading personalities of Melamchi Bazaar had run a relief collection campaign.

Campaigner Sagar Shrestha informed that a relief amount of Rs 100,000 was handed to house owner Deepak Dulal, Rs 212,000 to Harisharan Shrestha of New Melamchi Suppliers, Rs 70,000 to Praveen Deuja of Busy Bakery and Rs 50,000 to hotel entrepreneur Reena Gautam.

Earlier, Melamchi badminton academy and Melamchi municipal chamber of commerce and industry had also collected relief amount and handed it over to the survivors.
