Joining government is not our priority: RPP Chair Lingden

KATHMANDU: Chairman of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Rajendra Lingden has said that his party has not prioritized the issue of joining the government.

He said no discussion has taken place about joining the government.

Lingden was elected to the House of Representatives (HoR) defeating Nepali Congress leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula from Jhapa Constituency-3.

He has been elected to the HoR for the second time.

While parties like Maoist Center and Janata Samajbadi Party have kept all options open to join the government, RPP said it was yet to decide on the issue formally.

It should be noted that RPP can play a crucial role in government formation and in the parliament because of the number of seats (both under the first-past-the-post and proportional representation) it has won.

“Joining the government is not our priority,” Lingden said.
